After installing SP2 on our highly secured master data services Acceptance environment MDS did not work anymore. We got an error 500. After some research it seemed that the rights on the web.config where replaced!
So win 2012 with SQL 2012 BI sp1 CU9 with working MDS will no longer work with sql 2012 SP2 . or should i say might?
Anyway, you should write down the current rights on the web.config file and apply them again after the SP has been installed!
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Master Data Services\WebApplication\web.config
Then you should open master data services configuration tool, select your database and click Upgrade. the upgrade will result in an error but it will work.
